Beginning in 2023, I have been collecting species and coverage data at the Sam Shine Foundation Preserve in Monroe, County for Floristic Quality Analysis (FQA). This monitoring work was focused on areas proximal to a series of constructed ponds at the preserve. In 2025, beavers dammed an agricultural channel and created a new wetland. In 2026, I am collecting data from near these beaver wetlands to compare the progression of floristic quality between the two systems. This will culminate in an interactive orthomosaic map integrated with photo points and plot data.
